Origami workshop at AMP
Learn the Japanese art of paper folding with visiting origami artist Sachiko Fujimori at the American Memorial Park. Fujimori will demonstrate a variety of models and assist participants with folding. The workshop is free and open to the public. Join us for this unique opportunity on June 4, 2014, from 6pm to 7pm at the American Memorial Park Visitor Center. Paper will be provided. (NPS)
Navy, Air Force training at Warning Area 517, FDM
ASAN, Guam—The U.S. Navy will conduct training at Warning Area 517 on June 3-4, from 12:30pm to 8:30pm
The U.S. Air Force will conduct training on the island of Farallon de Medinilla during the following dates and times:
June 3, from 1pm to 5pm
June 5, from 9am to 3pm
June 6, from 9am to 2pm
The general public—especially fishermen, commercial pilots, and marine tour operators—are advised to stay clear from the area during the times and dates indicated.
W-517 is an irregular shaped polygon comprising of 14,000 nautical square miles of airspace that begins south of Guam and extends south-southwest in international waters. This will affect fishing in the vicinity of Santa Rosa Reef and Galvez Bank.
The general location of the training on the island of Farallon de Medinilla training area will be on a 10 nautical mile radius on all quadrants. (PR)
Family grief support meeting on June 5
A group that is in the process of forming a Compassionate Friends chapter on Saipan will be holding their monthly grief support meeting on Thursday, June 5, from 6pm to 7:30pm, in the NMPASI conference room on Middle Road, in Gualo Rai.
The mission of The Compassionate Friends is to assist families toward the positive resolution of grief following the death of a child of any age and to provide information to help others to be supportive. Today more than 600 chapters serving all 50 states plus Washington D.C., Puerto Rico, and Guam offer friendship, understanding, and hope to bereaved parents, siblings and grandparents and other family members during the natural grieving process after a child has died.

Fundraising event for Lee Pan on Friday
The Committee-to-elect Joseph “Lee Pan” Tenorio Guerrero is having a fundraising event on Friday, June 6, 2014, from 6pm to 10pm at the Garapan Central Park.
Guerrero who is running for the House of Representative under the NMI Republican Party along with his colleagues from Precinct 1.
