NMDC meeting set
The Northern Marianas Descent Corp. will be holding a general membership meeting next week Tuesday, June 19, 2018, at the Carolinian Utt. The meeting will begin promptly at 6pm and the topic for discussion will be on Senate Bill 20-35 which is to amend 1 CMC subsection 2806(c) to increase the term of public land leases up to 40 years plus an extension up to 35 years for a total 75 years; to authorize existing public land leases to be amended to extend the existing lease term up to 75 years; and for other purposes. Military training at former golf course
ASAN, Guam—The U.S. military will conduct training at the former Adm. Nimitz Golf Course in Barrigada on June 15-18, from 5pm to 11pm.
These types of trainings are designed to enhance the readiness of military personnel. Residents in surrounding areas should not be alarmed if they see or hear increased activity associated with the training.
The public should be advised that routine helicopter training often accompanied with the use of blanks can occur throughout the week in areas of the former golf course and Andersen South. (PR)
Power interruption on Saturday
There will be a scheduled power interruption on Saturday, June 16, 2018, from 5am to 10am, affecting San Roque and As Matuis. All water wells in As Matuis will be affected. All lift stations in As Matuis and San Roque will also be affected.
The purpose of the power interruption is to de-energize utility lines and allow Commonwealth Utilities Corp. linemen to safely replace three 55-foot wooden poles with concrete poles.
