Survivors and caregivers support meeting on Thursday
All people facing cancer, their family members, and caregivers are invited to the next Commonwealth Cancer Association monthly support meeting scheduled for Thursday, July 26, 2012, at the Fiesta Resort & Spa Saipan, starting at 5:30pm. This month’s support meeting guest speaker will be Trina Sablan, Healthy Lifestyle Promotion coordinator, NCD Bureau. Her presentation will feature detailed information on health promotion. Air Force, Navy training on FDM, Warning Area 517
The U.S. Air Force will conduct training on the island of Farallon de Medinilla on July 23-27 from 8am to 12:59am.
The Navy will conduct training at Warning Area 517 on July 24-25 from 8am to 5pm.
The general public, especially fishermen, commercial pilots, and marine tour operators, are advised to stay clear from the area during the times and dates indicated.
The general location of the training on the island of Farallon de Medinilla training area will be on a 10 nautical mile radius on all quadrants.
W-517 is an irregular shaped polygon comprising of 14,000 nautical square miles of airspace that begins south of Guam and extends south-southwest in international waters. This will affect fishing in the vicinity of Santa Rosa Reef and Galvez Bank. (PR)
Cleanup, Paint, and Beautify Day at MHS
On Saturday, Aug. 4, 2012, the Marianas High School Parent Teacher Association will conduct a Cleanup, Paint, and Beautify Day at the MHS campus. The PTA invites all parents, students, teachers, and any other interested members of the community to meet at the MHS at 7:30am to help prepare the campus for the new school year.
