Military exercises at W-517
The CNMI Emergency Operations Center in conjunction with U.S. Naval Forces Marianas (N3) Guam would like to inform the general public that the U.S. Military Unit will be conducting Military Exercises at W-517 Irregular Poly-Gon south of Guam from July 25 to 27, 12pm-10pm.
The general location of this activity will be at W-517 irregular poly-gon south of Guam comprising southwest into international waters.
Due to the danger imposed by these activities, acting governor Victor B. Hocog is strongly advising the general public especially fishermen, commercial pilots, and marine tour operators to stay away from these areas during the time and dates indicated.
The cooperation and understanding of the general public is greatly appreciated. NMPASI closed on July 25
Northern Marianas Protection & Advocacy Systems, Inc. (NMPASI) will be closed on Monday July 25, 2016 from 1pm to 5pm. We will be open from 8am to 1pm that same day. Normal working hours (8am to 5pm) will resume Tuesday July 26, 2016. Thank you very much and we apologize for the inconvenience. (PR)
JKPL offering Chamorro language classes
Are you interested in learning the basics of Chamorro? Or do you speak Chamorro or understand Chamorro, and just want to practice your Chamorro language skills?
Well, CNMI Motheread/Fatheread Family Literacy Program is pleased to offer a free Beginner’s Chamorro Literacy Class held at your friendly Joeten-Kiyu Public Library this summer!
Read and borrow books translated into Chamorro from our award-winning Motheread/Fatheread curriculum. Classes are held every Tuesday and Thursday for the month of July from 5pm to 6pm.

KHS is accepting ongoing registration for SY16-17
Kagman High School is reminding parents and guardians of students who plan to enroll at the school to please ensure your schedule is secure and to register no later than July 8, 2016.
Registered student schedules will be made available at the orientations:

• Sophomore orientation on Aug. 11, 2:30pm at KHS café
• Junior orientation on Aug. 12, 1pm at KHS café

KHS reminds parents and guardians of students that you won’t get your schedule until you complete your registration.
So far, incoming 9th graders only 25 have registered, while out of 188 10th graders only 29 have registered. KHS also said that out of 165 11th graders only 30 have registered and out of 121 12th graders only 27 have registered. (PR)
