Scheduled power interruption today

The Commonwealth Utilities Corp. has scheduled a power interruption today, July 16, from 9am to 1pm, affecting Chalan Tun Antonio Apa in Fina Sisu. One power pole will be relocated. Areas affected include Hagon Pl., Northern Marianas College, Comfort Homes, Joeten Housing, Husk Ln., Aschi Pl., Ubwut Pl., Heggao Pl., Penka Pl., Patma Pl., and Gafo Pl. No water well nor wastewater lift station will be affected. Because of the scale of work that will be performed, CUC asks travelers to take alternate routes or to exercise caution when driving through the working area. (PR)

Guam health centers’ hours of operation

Effective Aug. 3, 2019, hours of operation of the Southern Region Community Health Center are Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm. Hours of operation of the Northern Region Community Health Center are Monday through Friday, 8am to 6pm and Saturdays 8am to 5pm. Navy trainings set

ASAN, Guam—The Navy will conduct training from 11am to 11:55pm today July 15, and on July16 and 18, at the Dandan-Malojloj training site in Inarajan.  

The Navy will also conduct an exercise from July 16 at 11am to July 17 at 1am, at Radio Barrigada.

These types of trainings are designed to enhance the readiness of military personnel. Residents in surrounding areas should not be alarmed if they see or hear increased activity associated with the training. The public should be advised that routine helicopter training often accompanied with the use of blanks can occur during these trainings.

The Navy will conduct an open-ocean exercise on July 16, from 10am to 4:45pm within a 10-nautical-mile radius of the following coordinates: 13.48˚N/144.41˚E.

The Navy will also conduct training on July 18, from 1-8pm at Warning Area 517. 

W-517 is activated south of latitude 12° 40’ 00″N.

It is recommended the public, fishermen, and marine tour operators monitor the Coast Guard broadcast notice to mariners for advisories. (PR)
