Jury cancellation

Air Force training on Farallon de Medinilla

Santa Rita, Guam-The U.S. Air Force will conduct training on the island of Farallon de Medinilla on the following dates and times:

-Jan. 9 and 11, from 9am to 4pm

-Jan. 13, from 8am to 3pm

The public-especially fishermen, commercial pilots, and marine tour operators-are advised to stay clear from the area during the times and dates indicated.

The general location of the training on the island of Farallon de Medinilla training area will be on a 10 nautical mile radius on all quadrants. (USN)

CCA board to meet today

The Commonwealth Cancer Association’s board of directors will be convening its monthly meeting today, Jan. 9, 2012, at 12pm at the CCA Conference room in Gualo Rai. The agenda includes updates on Cervical Cancer Awareness Month, the board’s annual general membership meeting, MMAC 2012, and CCA’s program manager transition. Under New Business, the board is expected to approve CCA’s proposed budget for 2012, as well as reviewing CCA’s standard operating procedures. All board meetings are open to the public. Chamber Installation Dinner on Jan. 21

The 2012 Saipan Chamber of Commerce Officers and Directors Installation Dinner will be held this Jan. 21, 2012, at the Fiesta Resort and Spa Saipan’s Hibiscus Hall. Jerry Tan, president of Tan Holdings, will be this year’s keynote speaker. The Chamber will also announce its 2011 Businessperson of the Year award recipient. SCC will continue with its Installation Dinner tradition and hold a silent auction to raise funds for the Scholarship Awards Program.

The deadline for nominations for Businessperson of the Year Award has been extended to Jan. 9, 2012.
