CUC extends final payment date at banks
The Commonwealth Utilities Corp. has extended the final date of accepting payment at the Bank of Guam, Bank of Hawaii, and Bank of Saipan branches.
Payments must be made on or before the date indicated on their Delinquency/Disconnection Notice and the amount of payment is not less than the minimum amount due on their Delinquency/Disconnection Notice.
Previously, CUC allowed the banks to accept its customer payments no later than the due date indicated on their monthly bill. As a convenience for its customers, this change is made to allow CUC customers to be able to pay at a location most convenient for them. (CUC)
Water outage in Garapan, Navy Hill, Chinatown
There is currently an emergency water service interruption in the Garapan, Navy Hill and Chinatown areas due to an electrical motor failure of three high producing wells. Water operations personnel of the Commonwealth Utilities Corp. are currently making the necessary repairs that are expected to be completed by Saturday, Jan, 28, 2017. Water service hours will return to regular service hours soon after. (CUC)
Scheduled power outage on Saturday
There will be a scheduled power interruption on Saturday, Jan. 28, 2017, from 6am to 11am to de-energize the primary lines to allow the Commonwealth Utilities Corp. line crew to safely conduct distribution system maintenance through the installation of primary power poles and relocation of secondary power lines on Isa Drive on Capital Hill. This is an effort to strengthen the integrity of the distribution circuit. Areas to be affected include Capital Hill (Isa Dr., Sagua Dr., Hafno St., Mate Dr., Haat Pl., Coastal Dr., Laguna Dr., Trenchera Ln., Nonak Dr.), Sadog Tasi (Rubentasion Ln., Woosch Dr., Tide Lp., Leeset Ln., Sadog Tasi Dr., Acho Tasi Pl., Pila Dr.), and Lower Base (Lalanyok Pl., Pagu Av., Ufa Pl., Manglen Way, Lower Base Dr., Mangrove Pl.). Emergency water outage in As Lito, As Perdido and Koblerville
There is currently an emergency water service interruption in the As Lito, As Perdido and Koblerville areas. The cause of the interruption is due to a couple leaks on the water main line located on the Chalan Martinez Road in As Lito near Green Consume and Judy’s Café. Water operations personnel of the Commonwealth Utilities Corp. are currently making the necessary repairs and are anticipated to be completed last night at 6pm. Water service hours will return to regular service hours soon thereafter. Currently, the northbound lane is closed for CUC repair crews. Motorists are urged to be cautious in the area and also advised to take an alternative route if possible. (CUC)
