Survivors, caregivers support meeting on Thursday
All people facing cancer, their family members, and caregivers are invited to the next Commonwealth Cancer Association monthly support meeting scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 22, 2015, starting at 5:30pm at the Hyatt Regency Saipan’s Chamolinian Room. PH mobile consular outreach on Saipan
The Philippine Consulate General in Agana, Guam announced that the schedule for biometrics capturing of the pre-processed passport applications is already available. To avoid delays in the processing of said applications, applicants are advised not to fold copies of the original scanned requirements that were sent to us in advance.
Note that all ePassport applications require “personal appearance.” Please wear proper attire with collar. Applicants included in the list are advised to be present in the venue on the time and date indicated in the schedule. Time slot of the “no show” applicants will be cancelled. (PCG)
STEM Fair on March 28
The CNMI Public School System is hosting the Annual Islandwide Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) Fair on March 28, 2015, Saturday, from 8am to 3pm at the Marianas High School Gymnasium.
Participants include students from both public and private schools from Rota, Tinian and Saipan. Students will be presenting their projects in the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.
Registration and setup begins at 3:30pm on March 27, 2015. Judging will begin promptly at 9am on March 28, 2015 with an open house and awards ceremony in that same afternoon. (PR)
Air Force training at Farallon de Medinilla
ASAN, Guam–The U.S. Air Force will conduct training at the island of Farallon de Medinilla during the following times:
• Jan. 21 – 22, from 10am to 4pm and 5pm to 11:55pm
• Jan. 23, from 7am to 2pm
The general public–especially fishermen, commercial pilots, and marine tour operators–are advised to stay clear from the area during the dates and times indicated. The general location of the training on the island of Farallon de Medinilla will be on a 10-nautical mile radius on all quadrants. (PR)

Chamber Installation Dinner on Jan. 24
The Saipan Chamber of Commerce will have no general membership meeting this month. Instead it will celebrate with its Installation Dinner on Jan. 24 at the Hibiscus Hall of the Fiesta Resort and Spa Saipan. The Chamber will welcome its newest board members and will announce its 2014 Business Person of the Year. A silent auction will offer fabulous prizes! Tickets are $50/person, and tables of eight persons are available. (SCC)
