March is ‘CNMI Women’s Month’
A proclamation recognizing March as “Women’s Month” and March 8 as “International Women’s Day” was signed yesterday, Feb. 28, at the Governor’s Office. CNMI Women’s Month is spearheaded by the CNMI Women’s Association and the Office of the Special Assistant for Women’s Affairs.
The CWA, Office of the Special Assistance for Women’s Affairs, and community partners have lined up a series of activities and events for the Women’s Month celebration that will give emphasis on the call to include women’s concerns and issues in leadership platforms and the government’s development agenda.
The International Women’s Day theme is “Be Bold for Change.” The CNMI has adopted “Empowering Women as Leaders of Change” as its theme for 2017.
The CNMI Women’s Association is funded by the Community Services block grant. (PR)
