BECQ brigade cleanup moves to new site

The Bureau of Environmental and Coastal Quality Cleanup Brigade would like to inform the general public that due to the weather forecast, the beach cleanup scheduled for Saturday, March 1, 2014, at 8am will no longer be at Old Man by the Sea but will now take place at Tank Beach in Kagman. We apologize for the short notice; however, the safety of all our volunteers is important to us.

We thank all the volunteers and we hope that you all will continue joining or assisting in the cleanup brigade. Let’s continue to keep our island clean!

Air Force training on Naval Base Guam 

SANTA RITA, Guam—The Air Force will conduct cargo aircraft delivery operations in the waters between Agat Bay and Orote Point on Naval Base Guam Feb. 26 and 27 from 8am to 10am. This exercise is designed to enhance the training and readiness of military personnel. Coast Guard and Air Force personnel will be on shore and on boats to monitor operations.

Boats, divers and base personnel are to remain clear of these areas during the dates and times indicated. Residents in surrounding areas should not be alarmed if they see and hear increased activity associated with the exercise. (PR)
