MHS PTA may require Parent Report Cards

The Marianas High School Parent Teacher Association is encouraging all parents to attend its second quarterly meeting on Thursday, Feb. 2, 2012, at MHS Dolphin Theater, formerly known as the T Building, from 4pm to 6pm. The second quarter report cards will be distributed to parents after attending the PTA meeting.

Important items for discussion include: Election of officers for SY 2012-2013, the possible requirement of Parent Report Cards, update of ongoing projects, as well as a presentation on the PSS Core Standards Curriculum.

The MHS Dolphin Theater Glee Club will also present a special performance during the meeting. Call the MHS Main office at 664-3800 for more information. (PR)

Report card day at Kagman High on Friday

Kagman High School is issuing all second quarter report cards on Friday, Feb. 3, to be sent home with students. It is a full-day schedule. Students will bring their report cards home that night to share their second quarter grades with parents. Parents, remind your children to show you their reports! Report card grades are final and cannot be changed. Parents who want to request meetings with teachers may call the main office to set appointments.

Progress reporting for the third quarter will be in the first week of March. Parents and guardians are encouraged to come meet with teachers and staff during this event. Progress reporting is the best time to discuss progress and intervention strategies for struggling students. Call 237 3840 if you have any questions. (PR)

Courthouse schedule for February

Through the end of February 2012, CNMI courthouses on all three islands will be open with full operations except as noted below.

Saipan: Limited operation on Friday, Feb. 10, 2012. Only essential services of the Office of the Clerk of Court, the Office of Adult Probation Services, the Family Court Division, the Marshal Service Division, and Judicial Chambers will be provided.

Closed on: Monday, Feb. 20, 2012 (President’s Day)

Rota: Closed on Monday, Feb. 6, 2012

Tinian: Closed on Monday, Feb. 20, 2012

The CNMI Judicial Council will meet again on Feb. 15, 2012, and the hours of operation for March will be released shortly after.
