Navy to conduct training in open ocean

ASAN, Guam—The U.S. Navy will conduct open-ocean exercises from 6pm to 11:55pm on Dec. 3 at the following coordinates: 13˚26’’N/145˚08’’E and 13˚42’’N/144˚36’’E. All vessels are advised to remain clear of a three nautical mile radius of these coordinates. It is recommended the public, fishermen, and marine tour operators monitor the U.S. Coast Guard broadcast notice to mariners for advisories. (PR)

Holiday closures at AMP

The American Memorial Park Visitor Center will be closed on the following dates:

– Dec. 25, 2019, Christmas Day

– Jan. 1, 2020, New Year’s Day

The rest of the park will remain open to the public.

With the exception of the holidays, the Visitor Center is open every day from 9am to 4pm.

Military trainings set

ASAN, Guam—The U.S. Navy will conduct training at the Dandan training site in Inarajan on Dec. 3-5, from 11am to 11:55pm.

The U.S. Navy will also conduct training at Radio Barrigada during the following dates and times:

– Dec. 3, from 10am to 9pm and 6pm to 11:55pm
– Dec. 4, from 11am to 5pm and 6pm to 11:55pm
– Dec. 5, from 6pm to 11:55pm

These types of trainings are designed to enhance the readiness of military personnel. Residents in surrounding areas should not be alarmed if they see or hear increased activity associated with the training. Routine helicopter training often accompanied with the use of blanks can occur during these trainings.

The U.S. Navy will conduct training at the island of Farallon de Medinilla today, Dec. 3, from 6am to 4pm.

Training will be conducted within a 12-nautical mile radius of Farallon de Medinilla. For the duration of the exercise the public, fishermen, and marine tour operators are advised to remain clear of these areas and monitor the U.S. Coast Guard broadcast notice to mariners for advisories.

The U.S. Navy will conduct open-ocean exercises on Dec. 5, from 3pm to 6pm within a 10-nautical-mile radius of the following coordinates: 13˚26’’N/145˚08’’E and 13˚42’’N/144˚36’’E.

All vessels are advised to remain clear of a 3-nautical mile radius of these coordinates.

The U.S. Navy will also conduct training at SHARK SW today, Dec. 3, from 8am to 4pm at the following coordinates:

13˚24’45’’N/144˚25’10’’E, 13˚10’50’’N/144˚25’03’’E, 13˚11’50’’N/144˚35’05’’E, 13˚17’46’’N/144˚35’22’’E, 13˚24’13’’N/144˚34’46’’E, 13˚24’49’’N/144˚25’10’’E.

All vessels are advised to remain clear of a 3-nautical mile radius of these coordinates.

The U.S. Air Force, U.S. Coast Guard, Japan Air Self-Defense Force, Royal Australian Air Force, and Royal New Zealand Air Force will conduct training for Operation Christmas Drop on Dec. 5-6 off Orote Point at coordinates 13˚25’’N/148˚38’’E.

CHamoru commission meeting set

The Kumisión i Fino’ CHamoru yan i Fina’nå’guen i Historia yan i Lina’la’ i Taotao Tåno’ (Commission on CHamoru Language and the Teaching of the History and Culture of the Indigenous People of Guam) will hold its first December monthly meeting on Dec. 5, 2019, Thursday from 12:30pm to 3pm at the Guam Museum conference room, Hågatña. PH consulate to visit Saipan

The Philippine Consulate General in Guam, in coordination with the office of Philippine Honorary Consul to the CNMI Glicerio “Eli” Arago, will be conducting a consular outreach mission on Saipan on Dec. 3-5, 8am to 4pm, at the Sun Palace Hotel in Susupe.

Applications for ePassports will be processed during the three-day consular mission.

All ePassport applicants should check the list of schedules available on the Philippine Consulate General’s Facebook page (facebook.com/PHinAgana/). Biometrics and personal data capturing for ePassport applications will be according to the attended schedule. Those who are on the list of ePassport applicants must show up at the venue on the date and time indicated in the schedule in proper attire (i.e. with collar and sleeves). Personal appearance is required for all ePassport applicants.

For consular services, including passport renewal, that require civil registration documents such as birth certificate and marriage certificate, documents from the Philippine Statistics Authority or from the former National Statistics Office will be accepted.

Free Guam workshops

The Guam Procurement Technical Assistance Center is offering free workshops to the public this December that will teach participants how to market and sell your products/services to the federal government.

Workshops run from 9am to 10am at the University of Guam in the Jesus and Eugenia Leon Guerrero Business and Public Admin Building, Margarita Perez & Jaime Tuquero IT&E Lecture Hall, Room 131(unless otherwise specified):

– Dec. 5: Marketing to the Federal Government—Are you ready to sell to the government? The government buys products and services differently than the private sector. The Guam PTAC will discuss marketing strategies, essential documents, and how to get your company on “the list.”

– Dec. 12: Responding to Requests for Proposals—The Guam PTAC will walk participants through the common sections and clauses of an RFP as well as provide tips on developing a proposal in response to an RFP.

n Dec. 19: Procurement Integrated Enterprise Environment—Do you have a DOD contract and need to get paid? The Guam PTAC will explain DOD invoicing procedures using the Procurement Integrated Enterprise Environment system, formerly known as WAWF.
