RCUOG meeting set Friday
The regular meeting of the Research Corporation of the University of Guam will be held Friday, Dec. 15, 2017, at 2:30pm in the president’s conference room, executive offices, on the second floor of the Jesus S. and Eugenia A. Leon Guerrero School of Business and Public Administration Building. RCUOG complies with Guam Public Law 24-109 with reference to the provisions and requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act. Landfill, transfer station closed on Sat.
On Saturday, Dec. 16, 2017, both the Lower Base transfer station and the Marpi landfill waste disposal facilities will be closed at 3pm in preparation for the Department of Public Works’ annual Christmas party. (PR)
Water service interruption on Saipan
There will be a scheduled water service interruption today, Dec. 13, from 8am to 5pm, in several areas on Saipan to repair a leak in a 6-inch transmission line. The water outage will affect Koblerville, San Antonio, Chalan Kanoa, Susupe, San Jose, Oleai, Chalan Piao, As Lito and Fina Sisu areas. Customers in these areas should expect restoration of services soon thereafter. Repairs will be located on the corner of Guangdong Hardware in As Lito. (CUC)
Survivors, caregivers support meeting on Dec. 14
All people facing cancer, their family members, and caregivers are invited to the Commonwealth Cancer Association support meeting on Thursday, Dec. 14, 2017, starting at 5:30pm at the Hyatt Regency Saipan’s Chamolinian Room. Military training at Warning Area 517, Farallon de Medinilla
ASAN, Guam—The U.S. military will conduct training at Warning Area 517 during the following dates and times:
Dec. 13, from noon to 10pm.
Dec. 14, from 8:30am to 10:30pm.
The military will also conduct training at the island of Farallon de Medinilla during the following dates and times:
– Dec. 12, from 8:30am to 6:30pm.
– Dec. 13, from noon to 10pm.
– Dec. 14, from 8:30am to 10:30pm.
– Dec. 15, from 10:30am to 3:30pm.
W-517 is activated south of latitude 12° 40’ 00″N. Santa Rosa Reef and Galvez Banks are open for public use.
The general location of the training on the island of Farallon de Medinilla will be in a 12-nautical mile radius of the island. (PR)
