Glow Walk, Run or Wheel set

The VOICES of the CNMI in collaboration with Team Koka will be having its annual Glow Walk, Run Or Wheel on Dec. 28 starting at 5pm. This will be the fourth year since the Voices has been hosting this event. You still have time to register and the first 100 participants will receive a T-shirt and bag. Tinian sobriety checkpoints set

Tinian’s Traffic Section will be conducting sobriety checkpoints on the dates and time listed below:

-Dec. 29, 2016, 6pm to 7:15pm: North- and southbound lane on Broadway Road between Tinian Hardware and Natibu Park.

-Dec. 29, 2016, 8pm to 9:15pm: West- and eastbound lane on Suzuran Street between Natibu Park and Senior Citizen Center in San Jose Village.

-Dec. 30, 2016, 6:30pm to 7:45pm: West- and eastbound lane on Grand Street between JJ Mart and Department of Commerce.

-Dec. 30, 2016, 8pm to 9:15pm: West and eastbound lane on Canal Street between Queen’s and Tinian Hardware.

Each checkpoint will last at least 75 minutes (1 hour and 15 minutes). (DPS)

NMPASI closed on Dec. 30

The Northern Marianas Protection & Advocacy Systems, Inc., or NMPASI, will be closed on Friday, Dec. 30, 2016, at 12pm for Professional Development training. It will reopen on Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2017, for normal business hours: 8am-5pm. (PR)

$1,000 for MVA’s ‘Marianas-chan’

In its quest to find its Marianas-chan (Marianas child) to help promote the Northern Marianas in Japan, the Marianas Visitors Authority is offering a $1,000 to the winner of auditions on Jan. 7, 2016. Contestants must register before the auditions, and the deadline to register is Dec. 30, 2016.

Interested contestants from Tinian and Rota are invited to submit an application with a 1-2 minute video of the contestant to info@mymarianas.com for call back to the Jan. 7 audition.
