Survivors, caregivers support meeting on Aug. 16
All people facing cancer, their family members, and caregivers are invited to the Commonwealth Cancer Association monthly support meeting on Aug. 16, 2018, starting at 5:30pm at the Hyatt Regency Saipan’s Chamolinian Room. Guest speaker for the meeting will be Dr. William Moss, ENT specialist at the Commonwealth Healthcare Corp. Public library closed on Aug. 25
The Joeten-Kiyu Public Library will be closed on Saturday, Aug. 25, 2018, in celebration of CNMI Labor Day. The library will reopen with regular hours on Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2018. CHamoru commission meeting set
The Kumisión i Fino’ CHamoru will hold a special meeting on Aug. 15, 2018, from 8am to 9am at the University of Guam Humanities conference room in Mangilao. Today and tomorrow—Aug. 9 and 10—the following Northern Marianas College departments will be closed:

Power interruption on Aug. 11
The Commonwealth Utilities Corp. would like to inform the public that there will be a power interruption on Saturday, Aug. 11, from 5am to 10am, affecting Koblerville. No water well or wastewater lift station will be affected. Five power poles will be replaced. Because of the scale of work that will be performed, CUC asks travelers to take alternate routes or to exercise caution when driving through the working area. Military training at FDM, Warning Area 517
ASAN, Guam—The U.S. military will conduct training at the island of Farallon de Medinilla on Aug. 10, from 11am to 2pm. It is recommended the public, fishermen, and marine tour operators monitor the Coast Guard broadcast notice to mariners for advisories. The general location of the training will be in a 12-nautical mile radius of the Farallon de Medinilla. (PR)
