Street market tonight is cancelled

There will no Thursday Night Street Market at the Garapan Fishing Base tonight. The event is cancelled, according to Commonwealth Council of Arts and Culture executive director Parker Yobei. (PR)

 

MHS registration ongoing
Marianas High School registration is ongoing for new and returning students. Note that even if your child is a returning student, you are still required to submit a new registration for the new school year. Last day for registration will be on Aug. 15, 2019. Schedules will not be provided until registrations are submitted. Office hours are Monday-Friday, 8am-12pm and 1pm-4pm.MHS is closed on austerity Fridays.

Orientation for freshmen and new transfer students will be on Aug. 29, 9am-11am, at the MHS cafeteria.  Agenda will include distribution of schedules, picture taking for photo ID, a school club mini-fair, and a campus tour.

MLSC probate workshop on Thursday
The Marianas Office of Micronesian Legal Services Corp. will be presenting the seventh—and the last—in a series of probate workshops on Thursday, Aug. 8, 2019, at 3pm at the Joeten-Kiyu Public Library. The topic is wills (the different kinds, how to make one, etc.). The workshop is free and open to the public. (PR)

Calling student writers in the CNMI
The Joeten-Kiyu Public Library is hosting a Student Writers Mystery Adventure on Saturday, Aug. 10, 2019 from 1pm to 4pm. It’s free and open to all students of any age. The focus is on talking about, planning, and writing mysteries. Also prizes. (PR)

Open house at Saipan airport
The Francisco C. Ada/Saipan International Airport will be holding an open house meeting on Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2019, from 6pm to 8pm, at the Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting Building located at 1 Fadang at the Saipan airport. The open house will discuss the ongoing airport master plan study. The consultant team will also be available to answer questions.
