CCA board meeting on Aug. 19
The Commonwealth Cancer Association’s board of directors will be holding its regular meeting on Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2014, at 3pm at the CCA conference room. Survivors and caregivers support meeting
All people facing cancer, their family members, and caregivers are invited to the next Commonwealth Cancer Association monthly support meeting on Thursday, Aug. 21, 2014, starting at 5:30pm at Hyatt Regency Saipan’s Chamolinian Room. Military exercises on FDM, at W-517
The U.S. military will be conducting exercises on Farallon de Mendenilla and Area W-517 south of Guam. The schedule dates and time are as follows:
– Aug. 9, 7am-2pm, FDM
– Aug. 11, 1pm-09pm, FDM
– Aug. 13, 11am-11:55pm, FDM
– Aug. 14, 11am-06pm, FDM
– Aug. 15, 9am-11:55pm, FDM
– Aug. 13, 9am – 05pm, W-517
The general location of this activity will be at Farallon de Mendilla on a 10 nautical mile radius on all quadrants and Area W-517, an irregular polygon south of Guam comprising southwest into international waters.
Due to the danger imposed by this activity, the general public especially fishermen, commercial pilots and marine tour operators are strongly advised to stay away from these areas during the time and dates indicated. (PR)
‘Accounting for non-accountants’ seminar
The Marianas Institute of Filipino CPA’s and Accountants will be holding a seminar called “Accounting for Non-Accountants.” This seminar is designed for professionals, small business owners, non-profit organizations and all those wanting to move ahead in their careers.
Discussions will focus on topics from the Accounting Cycle to the Financial Statements. Learn accounting the simplified, fast, and easy way. The seminar will be conducted by MIFICPA officer Eloisa Agustin on Saturday, Aug. 9, 2014, from 1pm to 5pm at the Multi-Purpose Center in Susupe. Registration starts at 12pm. (Mificpa)
Marpi to be blocked off on Aug. 29
The Department of Public Safety will be blocking off the northern part of the island, from Marpi north, on Aug. 29, 2014, from about 12pm to 3pm. The purpose of this blockage is to dispose of a large collection of unexploded ordnance that has been collected by the Department of Public Safety Explosive Response Team. We are requesting all visitors to these popular areas of the island make arrangements to visit either in the morning before the 12pm deadline or after the operation has completed at 3pm. (DPS)
