4.9-magnitude quake in Pagan region

At 11:34am on Aug. 9,2021, a report of a 4.9-magnitude earthquake occurred 18.970°N 145.505°E of the Pagan region in the Northern Marianas Islands. Currently, there are no tsunami warnings or advisories issued by the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center. For more information, contact the CNMI EOC State Warning Point at 670-237-8000. (PR)

Nominate a UOG graduate for the 2021 Distinguished Alumni Awards 

The University of Guam Office of Development and Alumni Affairs, in partnership with the UOG Alumni Association, announces the opening of nominations for the 2021 UOG Distinguished Alumni Awards. Nominations will be accepted until 4pm on Sept. 24.  

Any individual who graduated from UOG earlier than 2008 is eligible to be nominated. Nominations may be submitted by any individual, independently or on behalf of a group or institution. Self-nominations will not be accepted.  

A total of six awards will be given to deserving individuals—one from each of the university’s schools and colleges and one to an alumnus/alumna who is serving or is retired from military service.

Winners will receive a plaque and special recognition at the UOG Distinguished Alumni Awards Ceremony. The event is scheduled for 6:30pm on Oct. 30 at Al Dente in the Hyatt Regency Guam.
