Japan Consulate offers class on Japanese culture
The Consular Office of Japan on Saipan will host a class about the Japanese culture on Friday, Sept. 19, 2014, from 3pm to 4:30pm, at the conference room of the Consular Office of Japan, second floor of the Bank of Hawaii Building, Mariana Heights Business Park, Puerto Rico, Saipan. The lecture will focus on the nature of Japanese culture, haiku (Japanese poetry), and Japan video topics.
Any interested person is kindly requested to register by Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2014, by contacting the Saipan Secretariat at cojsf@ag.mofa.go.jp. The class will be limited to 10 people due to the seating capacity and it will be on a first-come, first-served basis. Please register your name as early as possible. (PR)
DPS to close Marpi this Friday
The Department of Public Safety will block off the northern part of the island, Marpi, on Friday, Aug. 29, from 12pm to 3pm.
The purpose of this blockage is to dispose of the significant collection of unexploded ordinance that has been collected by the Department of Public Safety Explosive Response Team.
All visitors to these popular areas of the island are requested to make arrangements to visit either in the morning before the 12 noon deadline or after the operation has completed at 3pm.
