Memorial rites for Kaipat

The public is being invited to join a Memorial Ceremony to honor the late Marine Lance Cpl. Ramon Taisacan Kaipat at Mt. Carmel Cathedral at 4pm today, April 20, 2012. The Memorial Ceremony will be immediately followed by the celebration of a Holy Mass at 5pm. (PR)

Calling families of fallen heroes

The CNMI is celebrating Memorial Day on May 28, 2012, 9am at the CNMI Veteran’s Cemetery. The CNMI Military and Veterans Affairs director will be paying tribute to our fallen heroes and he inviting the immediate families of our fallen heroes to join the community in paying tribute to them. Kindergarten registration at SVES

San Vicente Elementary School Registration for school year 2012-2013 is scheduled to begin on May 14-18, 2012 for (Kindergarten) from 9am through 11:30pm in the school main office.

For all kinder: Child must be 5 years on or before Aug. 31, 2012, as per BOE policy. Date of birth must be between Sept. 1, 2006 and Aug. 31, 2007.

Registration requirements: birth certificate, health certificate, health/accident insurance, map of residential location; power of attorney/legal guardianship (if applicable), copy of report card, and unofficial transcript with the address and phone number of the last school attended.

Kagman High School notices

This is to inform parents and or guardians of Kagman High School students that the SAT10 is to be administered to 9th and 11th grade students the week of April 23 through 27-next week! Kagman High School’s goal is to get 95 percent in student attendance on this week so test results will be comprehensive of student achievement this year. Please make sure to send your child to school daily and on time.

Early dismissal for next week Monday, April 23, through Thursday, April 26, 2012. Student dismissal at 1:35pm.

Progress report distribution is set for May 2, 2012, from 3pm to 5pm. Half-day schedule for students. Dismissal at 12:45pm. (PR)

House vice speaker on Marianas Agupa

This Saturday, April 21, 2012, Marianas Agupa will feature Vice Speaker Felicidad Ogomoro to talk about House Bill 17-226 that would have allowed current government employees to withdraw up to 50 percent of their retirement contribution without resigning from their current work. Ogumoro will go on air between 10am and 10:30am. The show itself starts at 9am to 11am on Magic 100.3 FM. Listeners on Saipan, Tinian, and Rota and those listening via streaming are encouraged to call in and ask questions during the show. NMC-CREES hosts goat workshop today

The Northern Marianas College Cooperative Research Extension and Education Service is inviting members of the Tinian community to attend a free workshop to learn about goat management and nutrition. The workshop is today, April 20, 2012, in Room F at the NMC Tinian Instructional Site. Lecture is from 9am to 12pm, and the field tour and forum is from 1pm to 4pm. Public library to close of inventory
