Transfer station, landfill closed Friday
In observance of Good Friday, the Lower Base Transfer Station and the Marpi landfill will close on Friday, April 19, 2019. Both facilities will open on Saturday, April 20, 2019. (PR)
Department of Agriculture phone lines out of service
Telephone lines for the Department of Agriculture’s Director’s Office, Forestry & Soil Resources, Animal Health/Animal Control, and Agriculture Development Services are currently not in service. Should you need to contact any of these divisions, call the Aquatic & Wildlife Division at 735-3955/56. (PR)
USCIS to present naturalization information session in Guam next month
Officials from U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services will present a free information session to the public about citizenship and the naturalization process in Guam next month.
This session will take place at the Guam Public Library Hagatna branch.
USCIS will provide information about eligibility for citizenship, how to apply online, the English and civics tests, application forms and fees and how to best interact with USCIS about individual cases.
Officials will also discuss ways to avoid becoming a victim of immigration scams and provide agency updates. Free educational materials will be given out, while supplies last.

Power outage on April 22
There will be an emergency power interruption on April 22, from 2pm to 6pm, affecting Kagman III. The areas include Alageta Road and Puteng Drive in Kagman. No water service area nor wastewater service area will be affected. Utility lines will be de-energized to allow power line workers from Primary Source Electric to perform emergency maintenance on 12 spans of power poles along Alageta Road and Puteng Drive in Kagman.
Meanwhile, water service to Gualo Rai will no longer be interrupted on Thursday, April 18, as a result of the scheduled power interruption to take place along Chalan Pale Arnold Road in Gualo Rai, Middle Road. The Water Division of the Commonwealth Utilities Corp. will use a generator as standby power to the Gualo Rai wells during the scheduled power interruption. (PR)
Readiness exercise at US Naval Hospital Guam
AGANA HEIGHTS, Guam—The U.S. Naval Hospital Guam will conduct a readiness exercise on April 29, from noon to 4pm, to ensure contingency requirements are up to date. USNH Guam emergency department will remain open during the date and time indicated. The public should not be alarmed if they see or hear activities associated with the exercise. (PR)
