MLSC available by phone

The Marianas office of the Micronesia Legal Services Corp. continues to be closed to public contact during this time of COVID-19 pandemic prevention efforts. We are available by telephone at 234-7729 or 234-6243. We are a private-non-profit organization serving low-income people in the CNMI; we do not charge fees for our legal services. People may apply for assistance through our telephone intake process. (PR)

4.2-magnitude quake on Anatahan

At 4:45am on April 13 2020, a report of a 4.2-magnitude earthquake occurred 44 kilometers northwest of Anatahan in the Northern Mariana Islands. Currently, no tsunami warnings or advisories were issued by the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center. For more information, contact the CNMI EOC State Warning Point at 237-8000. (PR)

4.6-magnitude quake on Pagan

At 10:02pm on April 12 2020, a report of a 4.6-magnitude earthquake occurred 30 kilometers south of Pagan in the Northern Mariana Islands. 5.0-magnitude quake in Guam

At 3pm on April 10 2020, a report of a 5.0-magnitude earthquake occurred 110 kilometers southwest of Merizo Village in Guam. Free Guam webinars

The Guam Procurement Technical Assistance Center is offering free live webinars for April 2020. Webinars run from 10am to 11am and will be conducted via Zoom. A link to the live webinar will be emailed to all registered attendees 30 minutes before the start of the webinar. A survey link will be emailed to attendees after the completion of the webinar. Traffic court cases rescheduled

The CNMI Office of the Clerk of Court, Superior Court would like to notify individuals with traffic citations, cases pursuant to a court order issued by Superior Court Presiding Judge Roberto C. Naraja that were initially scheduled for April 2, 2020, are rescheduled to May 14, 2020, at 9am.
All parties with traffic citation(s) scheduled for hearing (arraignment) during the following date will be held at the Supreme Court courtroom of the Guma Hustisia.

Transfer station, landfill hours

The Department of Public Works has announced revised operation hours at the Lower Base Transfer Station and Marpi Landfill. The Lower Base Transfer Station will be open all week from 7:30am to 1pm, except Wednesday. For more information, call (670) 322-2745 (Lower Base office).
