The U.S. Coast Guard Sector Guam Captain of the Port lifted the safety zone for Tanapag Harbor on Saturday after surveying crews deemed it safe for transit.

Coast Guard Sector Guam has worked closely with the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands to mitigate any potential hazards.

Currently, cargo operations are limited to daylight hours due to inoperable lighting in the Port of Saipan.

The maritime public is advised to be vigilant when entering ports and harbors and to cooperate with the direction of the Coast Guard and local harbor masters.

Mariners seeking additional information on port and harbor openings should contact Sector Guam at (671) 355-4821 or monitor VHF Channel 16. (USCG)
