Let’s Go and Sun Palace Hotel donated training jersey to the CNMI youth national teams that will be competing in Asian Football Confederation-sanctioned tournaments later this year.

Sun Palace Hotel turned over two sets of training uniform to the CNMI Girls U14 National Team, while Let’s Go did the same to the CNMI Boys U14 National Team in a brief ceremony last Monday at the Oleai Sports Complex Field.

“Let’s Go is a very adventure oriented company that promotes healthy living and active lifestyle, so teaming up with these young and energetic players is a perfect partnership. We are proud to be their sponsors and we wish them luck,” said Let’s Go manager Ed Arriola, who turned over the training jersey to Northern Mariana Islands Football Association staff Jersh Angeles.

For Sun Palace Hotel’s part, owner Shirley Kim said their company has been involved in various sports for the last four years and it will continue to do so, especially if it concerns the youth.

MP United, Paire win U12 games
Meanwhile, the 2016 NMIFA Youth Spring League had its Week 2 games in the co-ed U12 and girls U15 divisions last Saturday.

At the Hopwood Junior High School Field, MP United FC and Paire prevailed in their respective co-ed U12 matches.

Maui Johnson lifted Paire to a 4-3 victory over Kanoa after scoring a hat-trick. He put Paire on the board in the first half and then made all two goals in the second. Paire got its other goal in the first half off a Kanoa error. Kanoa, on the other hand, drew goals from John Mark Anastacio, Ronian Laxamana, and Lester Bata.

In the other co-ed U12 tiff at the Hopwood pitch, MP United defeated Tan Holdings, 5-3.

Rintaro Miyawaki led the victory, as he also logged a hat-trick. Akira Kadokura and Dylan Kim knocked in one goal apiece.

Kadokura scored in the 26th minute, while Miyawaki got his first goal a minute later. Miyawaki made it two in a row with his shot in the 38th minute and completed the hat-trick in the 52nd, while Kim hit the board in the 47th.

Anthony Bergancia, Kohtaro Goto, and Angelo Pulido recorded one goal apiece for Tan Holdings.

Over at the San Antonio Middle School Field, MP United, Kanoa, and Shirley’s emerged victorious.

MP United whipped Paire FC, 14-1. Maaya Sato and Gillian Villagomez registered five goals each, Rei Sekiguchi and Maury Zon Tybaco chipped in two apiece in MP United’s demolition of Paire, which got its lone goal from Patricia Surima.

Kanoa had a similar lopsided win over Tan Holdings, 14-0. Princess Alcantara anchored the victory, drilling six goals. Hannah Santos added three, Paulyn Joyce and Lysa Itaas contributed two each, and Toremy Diaz tallied one.

In the Shirley’s-Matansa tiff, the former had four different players scoring for a 4-2 triumph over the latter. Katherine Magat, Katrina Costales, Jerlyn Castillo, and Therize Millare lit up the board for Shirley’s, while Sunny Woo and Lyka Sally posted the two goals for Matansa.
