Messages of condolences and prayers poured in to the family of Sgt. Nathan Teregeyo, after the Army paratrooper died last week while riding his motorcycle in northern Italy.

Several news sources said that Teregeyo was negotiating his 600-cc class sport bike when he lost control of his vehicle while negotiating a curve along the winding road of Strada Provinciale 349.

The report said he was riding with a fellow soldier on a second motorcycle when the accident happened at 4pm. The report said he “struck a brick wall next to an apartment complex.” Officials said he died on the spot.

The 25-year-old was assigned to the Army’s 173rd Infantry Brigade at the Caserma Ederle, U.S. Garrison Italy, under the 1st Battalion, 503rd Infantry Regiment (Airborne).

Strada Provinciale, a serpentine route with hairpin curves, is a road leading up to the Asiago township at the foothills of the Italian Alps. Local media said dozens of accidents happen on the road, many to motorcyclists.
