The U.S. Army Pacific Weapons of Mass Destruction–Civil Support Team/CBRNE Enhanced Response Force Package Training and Readiness Division, in partnership with the Office of the Governor and the CNMI response community, will be conducting a 36-hour all-hazard Chemical Biological Radiological Nuclear Explosive Situational Training Exercise.

Exercise “KONFITMA” is scheduled for Tuesday, May 21, to Wednesday, May 28, 2014.

The full-scale exercise will serve as an interagency, multi-CST STX on Saipan, Tinian and Rota to maintain operational response procedures during an incident of national significance in order to create conditions to reinforce interoperability among the state and local stakeholders. The exercise will take place at various locations throughout the CNMI: in Garapan, Commonwealth Health Center, Saipan Southern High School, Garapan Elementary School, Civic Center, Garapan Fishing Base, Managaha Island, Tanapag Lagoon, Kannat Tabla, As Gonno, Kagman II, San Roque, Marpi, Ports of Saipan (airport and seaport), Rota Health Center, Tinian Junior High School, and Tinian Dynasty Hotel & Casino.

To ensure the safety of the community, the CNMI Homeland Security and Emergency Management Office and partner agencies ask that the general public take extra precautionary measures when near any of the various exercise locations. Should you have any question contact the CNMI Homeland Security & Emergency Management at 664-2216 or the CNMI Emergency Operation Center Dispatch at 237-8000. (Office of the Governor)
