The Hotel Association of the Northern Mariana Islands and charitable organization Empty Vessel Ministry Foundation have announced Nov. 2, 2016, as the rescheduled date for the CNMI Next Top Chef competition.

The competition will feature 12 chef teams in a “Chopped”-style competition live on-stage at the Royal Taga Ballroom of Saipan World Resort in three rounds: appetizers, main entrée, and dessert.

“We’re very exciting to be partnering with Empty Vessel this year on this expanded Top Chef competition,” said HANMI chair Gloria Cavanagh. “The new date allows more time for the committee to prepare an exciting event, and further details will be announced in the coming weeks. We know it’s going to be a great event for a very good cause.”

Individuals who support Empty Vessel by purchasing a ticket will be able to attend the live competition, sample 20 diverse hors d’oeuvrs prepared by HANMI-member hotels, and participate in winetasting and a large raffle drawing. Tickets are $35/person, and ticket sales will be announced shortly.

“Empty Vessel Ministry Foundation appreciates HANMI members and partners in presenting CNMI Next Top Chef competition,” said EVM director Rose Smith. “EVM is privileged to have HANMI as a long-term partner to help support our annual event fundraiser. We are very grateful and thankful to Mrs. Gloria Cavanaugh, chairman of HANMI, for commitment and support for this great cause. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. And a special thank you to our sponsors.”

Sponsors and supporters include: Best Sunshine, Bridge Capital, Triple J Saipan Inc., Mariana Resort & Spa, T Galleria, IT& E, Saipan Tribune, Marianas Variety, KKMP, Kagman High School, and Joeten Store-Susupe.

HANMI member hotels are currently registering their chef teams, and the public is welcome to register for any vacant slots on a first-come, first-serve basis. Applications are available from Empty Vessel Ministry Foundation at emptyvesselministry@gmail.com or at their office on Middle Rd., Gualo Rai. The registration cost is $50.

Corporations and individuals interested in donating to the event may contact EVM at 235-2340 or 287-0426. All proceeds will benefit Empty Vessel Ministry Foundation. (PR)
