CNMI junior golfers Edward Lee and Sebastian Camacho left Saipan yesterday to compete in the Philippine Airlines/Junior Golf Foundation of the Philippines Inter Club Tournament.

Lee and Camacho will be playing in the competition that will be held at Eagle Ridge Golf Club in Cavite this weekend as part of their preparations for the 2019 Pacific Games in Samoa.

Lee and Camacho is part of a 16-player team which includes junior golfers from the Guam Junior Golf League. This will be Lee and Camacho’s second time to play in the PH tournament.

Last year, Lee stunned his competitors after placing tied for first in the U14 division. He ended up taking the runner-up honors after losing in the playoff hole against Manila Orchard’s Soo Kim.

“The PAL was a good learning experience for me. Competing against the best junior golfers from the Philippines will only make me a better golfer. I look forward to returning in the tournament to do better than last year, team up with Guam juniors, and show that junior golfers from Saipan and this region can compete,” Lee said.

Camacho, on the other hand, has sharpened his game after his debut in the PAL-sponsored event last year.

The two junior golfers, along with Ryan Kim, Joe “Kamikaze” Camacho J.J. Atalig, and Tony Satur (alternate player) will be representing the CNMI in the Pacific Games in Apia this summer. (Saipan Tribune)
