“We would like to extend our appreciation to The Salvation Army, Karidat, and all other agencies and people involved for their continuous efforts to ensure that those affected by Typhoon Soudelor are being assisted throughout these difficult times,” she said.

The group held a “Boise for CNMI Happy Hour Relief Fundraiser” last Aug. 28. Many of them expressed concern for their families and friends who have lost their homes due to the typhoon. The CNMI community in Boise got together one weekend and facilitated a happy hour fundraiser effort. Tickets were sold at $10 each with island-style food and entertainment by Tiare Dance Group. Cathy Salas was one of the many who helped arrange the event.

“Many different agencies and people volunteer their time and money to help those who have been displaced or without food and/or clothing. The CNMI community of Boise hopes that their monetary donation to both The Salvation Army and Karidat will allow these agencies to further assist those who are in need,” added Tenorio. (PR)
