The Rotary Club of Saipan was able to provide assistance and support to Typhoon Mangkhut victims on Rota, along with dictionary giveaways for Tinian last week.

Club president Greg Borja reported yesterday that the club was able to provide Mangkhut victims with emergency items such as flashlights, some tents, and other supplies needed for getting ready for school.

“After the recent typhoon that devastated Rota, our club got together to…put together supplies such as mosquito coils, etc.,” he said. “We basically put together some kits that included string bags, composition notebooks, pencils, pens, crayons, sharpeners, etc. so that the kids would be ready to get back to school.”

All 196 students of the Sinapalo Elementary School were able to receive a kit.

On Tinian, Borja noted that the annual dictionary giveaways for third graders continued.
