Class C underground storage tank training now available

The Federal Energy Policy Act enacted by Congress in 2005 mandates training for all underground storage tank system operators. This means by Aug. 8, 2012, all facilities with underground storage tank systems permitted through the Division of Environmental Quality must have trained Primary and Emergency Response Operators.
The Emergency Response Operator (Class C) training is now available and is only available online.
To obtain certification as a Class C Operator of an underground storage tank system, you need to complete the five brief interactive lessons, the short quizzes, and review the useful handouts. Once you pass the online course, you will receive a certificate of completion. The course is self-paced and all you need is high-speed Internet and computer speakers. Multiple Users: If you buy more than one Class C license at a time, select the “Training Place” option when you checkout to easily share training with your co-workers.
In the event that you do not have high-speed Internet or speakers, you may take the certification and training online at the DEQ office. Testing days are only available on these Mondays: July 2, July 9, July 23, July 30, and Aug. 6. Testing shall be every hour. To reserve your time-slot, call DEQ to make an appointment.
As previously announced, the Primary Operator (Class A/B) training and certification shall be held on July 17 and 18; registration will close on Tuesday, June 26. This training is live (in person) and seating is limited.
