Church to hold auction for roof repair

To raise funds to repair its roof, the Central Baptist Church in Kannat Tabla will hold an auction at from 9am to 12pm on Saturday, Nov. 19, 2016, at Saipan’s new auction house and restaurant, Island House, in Garapan.
Central Baptist Church was started in Saipan in 1998. The church is pastored by Rev. Daniel E. Nam and serves the Korean and Chinese speaking community. It is estimated the roof will cost between $6,000 and $7,000.
Auction items will include luxury brand items; antiques, including World War II relics; personal collections; and more. Island House is located at the corner of Beach Road and Palm St. in downtown Garapan.
“We hope the community will support our fundraising,” said auction co-organizer and church member Kevin Wang Guolong. “Our church has helped many people. Right now, the church is helping and training the people about God. We get a good education from the church; members learn to play piano, sing, and do public speaking as if they were college graduates. We can feel the difference in family relationships, because the church teaches us how to be a good husband and a good wife. During the garment factory time, the church helped many workers. We are asking for the community’s support and prayers.”
