A Christmas tree decoration contest, caroling competition, and a parade and costume show kicked off the Marianas Visitors Authority’s annual Christmas in the Marianas festival last Saturday at the Paseo de Marianas.

MVA and PDM Promoters host this year’s festival.

A total of 17 schools participated in the Christmas tree decoration contest and a total of 19 schools participated in the caroling competition, all from various elementary schools, middle schools, and high school participants. A total of nine schools participated in the parade and costume show.

“This is our 17th year of hosting this event right in the heart of historic Garapan. The huge turnout on Saturday is a great sign that the holiday spirit is alive and well in the Commonwealth,” said MVA managing director Chris Concepcion.

He invites the public for activities at the Paseo de Marianas the next four Saturdays—Dec. 10, 17, 23, and 30.
