China’s ‘Fashion Travel’ returns to Saipan

The television program Fashion Travel returned to Saipan on Feb. 20-24, 2014, along with two other Chinese media outlets, as part of a familiarization tour organized by the Marianas Visitors Authority and Century Tours.
Fashion Travel of Jilin TV Station airs weekly and targets middle and high-end income groups with information on fashion, travel, and amusement. Their 75-second highlight of the Northern Mariana Islands will air throughout February and March 2014.
Food and Amusement of Chang Chun TV will feature a 15-minute segment on the Northern Marianas in March. The show airs to 20 million people and features daily living and the introduction of popular foods from around the world.
HRB Art Radio is the second-ranked radio station in Heilongjiang Province with about 10 million listeners. The station will air a 3-minute feature on the Northern Marianas through March and April.
“At this time of year, the residents of Jilin, China are experiencing temperatures around 20 degree Fahrenheit, so this is a perfect time to showcase the tropical warmth of our islands,” said MVA marketing manager Bruce Bateman.
While on Saipan, the media group visited Laolao Bay Golf Resort, Managaha, DFS Saipan and “I Love Saipan.” Meals were enjoyed on a Stars & Stripes sunset dinner cruise, at Kanoa Resort BBQ, at Isla Café, at a Managaha BBQ lunch, at Hyatt Regency Saipan, and at a Fiesta Resort & Spa dinner show. Other activities included an ATV tour with Sky Tour, marine sports, a submarine tour, Kanoa Resort Adventure Zone, and an island and jungle tour. Accommodations were provided by Hyatt Regency Saipan.
