Children enjoy summer school camp at GMS

Some 96 boys and girls participated in the fun-filled Green Meadow School’s 2014 Summer School Camp held at its Chalan Kiya campus and at its other location in Gualo Rai. Most campers were of kindergarten and elementary ages.

Aside from popular sports and recreation activities, the four-week program that started on June 2 also included varied hands-on indoor and outdoor activities in cooking and baking, song and dance interpretation, gardening, community service, and fashion accessory making.

In the first of the two-day culmination program, campers showcased and sold items they produced during activities in cooking and baking, gardening and fashion accessory making. Also held in the same day were the song and dance interpretation contest, campfire ceremony and sleep-over at the camp.

On June 28, 2014, the last day of the first batch of the summer camp was highlighted with grilling and cooking contest, Campers Got Talent contest participated by kindergarten groups, and giving of awards and certificates.  Cash and in-kind prizes were awarded to the champion in the grilling and cooking contest, 2014 Summer Camper champions, and Campers Got Talent winners.

Green Meadow School administration expresses its sincere appreciation to all campers, their parents, friends, and supporters, and heartfelt thanks to individual and corporate sponsors for making the 2014 summer camp a success.

The second batch of GMS 2014 Summer School Camp starts on July 7, culminating on the Aug. 2, 2014. The second batch will concentrate on academics focusing on math, reading, and writing aimed to help students prepare for school year 2014-2015. (GMS)
