The 17th Annual Taste of the Marianas International Food Festival and Beer Garden is saving the best for last when it hosts the 2015 Chefs’ Competition tomorrow at the American Memorial Park.

The competition will pit the hotels’ junior chefs against each other as they create the most delicious dishes in the cook-off.

Hyatt Regency Saipan is the defending champion this year after it topped 2013 winner Mariana Resort and Spa. More hotels are expected to join this year’s tilt.

The Chefs’ Competition has a different theme every year. Last year’s was Mexican Beef Tacos.

Hotel Association of the Northern Mariana Islands members always look forward to this competition to showcase their junior or senior chefs and their talents in creative displays and preparing delectable food.

Tomorrow’s Taste of Marianas will start at 6pm with entertainment, 15 food concessionaires, and three beer garden vendors.

Entertainment includes Hopwood Full 4th, Marianas Ukelele, Saipan Music and Dance School, Hopwood Simiyan Nina’la, JJ Concepcion, TRU Marianas, and Alana la.

An awards ceremony will be held at 8m and closing will be at 11pm.

Community members and visitors will also enjoy the new arts and crafts booth recently added to the Taste of the Marianas that features island-style wear, jewelry, hats, and many more.

The Taste of Marianas is part of the Marianas Visitors Authority’s celebration of Tourism Month.
