The graduating seniors nominated Che to be their commencement speaker, to which school president Galvin Deleon Guerrero immediately agreed.

“Ms. Che has done so much for her alma mater, the education community, and the community as a whole. It will be an honor for her to address our graduates,” Deleon Guerrero said.

Che graduated from MCS in 2005 where she was bestowed the Governor’s Leadership Award. She earned her bachelor’s degree in History and Anthropology from the University of San Diego, where she was admitted into the university’s graduate school for Higher Education Leadership, one of the most selective schools of its kind in the nation.

She earned her master’s degree in Assessment, Student Affairs, and Higher Education Policy in 2011 and returned to the CNMI to serve as the Scholarship Office administrator before moving to her current post at NMC.

She is currently pursuing a certification through the American Grant Writer’s Association and was recently admitted into the Western Association of School and Colleges Assessment Leadership Academy.

Both Che’s brother and sister are also AlumKnights. Her brother, Jeffrey Che, graduated in 2008 and her sister, Jasmine Che, is set to graduate Saturday night.
