The Non-Communicable Disease Bureau under the Division of Public Health Services at the Commonwealth Healthcare Corp. in collaboration with the Office of the Governor, held a strategic planning meeting at the Pacific Islands Club last June 18 and 20.

At this meeting, a variety of government agencies, private businesses, faith-based groups, non-profit organizations, and community members gathered to understand the severity of NCDs and how they can play a role in reducing the burden it causes in the CNMI.

The Physical Activity Council is recruiting members and invites the public to attend their inaugural meeting on Aug. 7, 2018, at 8:30am at CHCC.

This meeting is intended to build the Physical Activity Council and present its strategic plan to increase participation in exercise from 67 percent to 77 percent.

RSVP your attendance by emailing Physical Activity Council chair Samantha Birmingham-Babauta, at samantha.birmingham-babauta@dph.gov.mp. (PR)
