Those with no health insurance are being reminded that the Emergency Prescription Assistance Program will end on Monday, Dec. 31, 2018, according to a Commonwealth Healthcare Corp. notice yesterday

Supplementing Super Typhoon Yutu disaster recovery, the federally-run EPAP covers new and refill prescriptions issued by Dec. 31, 2018, for those who have no health insurance. All prescriptions processed using EPAP are $0 copay for the patient.

EPAP-covered prescriptions can be ordered from any of the CNMI’s three pharmacies (PHI, Brabu, or CHCC Outpatient Pharmacy). If you have any questions about using EPAP, call the hotline at 1-855-793-7470.

To ensure continuity of care after assistance from EPAP has ended, uninsured individuals are encouraged to apply for the CHCC’s income-based sliding fee program. Those enrolled in the sliding fee program are eligible for discounts on prescription medications from the CHCC pharmacy. Applications for the program are available at the CHCC’s outpatient pharmacy or at any CHCC registration desk.

For further information on the sliding fee program, contact 234-8950 ext. 3502 or 3007. (PR)
