Change of command at Joint Region Marianas

ASAN, Guam—Rear Adm. Shoshana Chatfield will relieve Rear Adm. Bette Bolivar during a change of command ceremony on Jan. 27.

The ceremony will be held at the Fr. Duenas Phoenix Center in Mangilao, Guam, at 10am. The guest speaker will be former Secretary of the Navy James H. Webb Jr. The event will be open to the public and also streamed live on the Joint Region Marianas Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/jrmguam).

Chatfield will serve as commander, Joint Region Marianas; commander, U.S. Naval Forces Marianas; U.S. Pacific Command, senior military official Guam, Commonwealth of the Northern Marianas Islands, Federated States of Micronesia, Republic of Palau, and commander, Task Force West.

She reports to Guam after serving as United States deputy military representative to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization Military Committee in Brussels, Belgium.

Bolivar served in her current position since August 2014. Under her leadership, Joint Region Marianas met its mission of enabling the warfighter and supporting military families, while building regional partnerships and spearheading the “One Guam” initiative focusing on creating initiatives that benefitted both military missions and citizens of Guam.
