Chamorro Village Buy Local Night tomorrow
This special event is part of the broader Think, Support, Buy Local Guam movement, which is aimed at educating island businesses and residents on the benefits of supporting Guam-based businesses and organizations and local workforce hiring as a means of enhancing economic well-being and building a strong sense of community.
According to Dr. Anita Borja Enriquez, project director of the UOG Pacific Center for Economic Initiatives, “by simply shifting at least 10 percent from off-island , on-base and online business and consumer purchases to local businesses whenever possible, this simple change in purchasing behavior can make a huge difference in keeping more dollars circulating in and benefiting our local economy.”
This campaign is part of an initiative funded by the U.S. Department of the Interior’s Office of Insular Affairs through the UOG Pacific Center for Economic Initiatives, in partnership with GEDA, Guam Chamber of Commerce and supported by Guam SBDC, Department of Chamorro Affairs, and UOG Junior Accountants Society.
