Chamber welcomes 4 new directors
The Saipan Chamber of Commerce welcomed four new directors during its general membership meeting at the SandCastle of the Hyatt Regency Saipan last week.
Chamber executive director Jill M. Arenovski said the four members joining the board of directors include Mable Ayuyu of Re/Max, Wayne Gillespie of the Salvation Army, and associate members Donna Krum and C.E. “Bud” White.
Ayuyu, Gillespie, Krum, and White replace outgoing secretary Greg Moretti, Kevin McCale, Rosemond B. Santos, and Nola K. Hix as directors.
The four will also join current directors led by Chamber president Alex A. Sablan, vice president Velma Palacios, and directors Chris Concepcion and Ron Smith.
Arenovski said she is really excited with the new crop of directors. For example, she said, Krum is a marketing expert who gave the “greatest speech on why you need to join the Chamber.”
She, however, is a bit sad that Hix and company will no longer be on the board.
“[Hix] really wants to start this young professionals group and I really want to support her. Nola is still going to be involved in committees and the Chamber moving forward.”
The Chamber board of director will meet in January to vote among themselves who will be the new officers. The officers’ terms are for a year, while board assignment is for two years.
The Saipan Chamber of Commerce is the largest private business organization in the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands. With over 145 business members the Chamber is an association aligned to make a difference in the Commonwealth community.
