CFL holds fun run tomorrow
Registration is only $5, which includes a ticket in the post-race raffle drawing. Refreshments will also be available to the runners at the start and finish line.
The course starts near the old Oleai Beach Bar & Grill parking lot and stretches north to the Japanese tank at Quartermaster Road, and back.
Proceeds from the event will go toward the CFL’s anticipated three-game tackle football series, which starts here at home at the Airport field with the CNMI players facing the Philippine Punishers on Oct. 20.
The CNMI delegation will then travel to the Philippines for a rematch with the Punishers on Nov. 10 and then returns home for a final match against a rival squad from Guam, on Dec.1.
“We are putting on this fun run to help get a jump start to the game day preparations. As many people know, the field needs work, the uprights need to be rehabbed and there are an awful lot of uniforms that need to be purchased,” said fun run organizer Brad Ruszala in an email alast Wednesday.
Show time is set for 6:30am with a 7:30am start. Various prizes from IT&E and other sponsors will be up for grabs.
