Celebrities Lee Seung-Hyun and Qi Wei wed on Saipan
South Korean singer-actor Lee Seung-Hyun and Chinese singer-actress Qi Wei were married on Aug. 2, 2014,(Chinese Valentine’s Day) on Saipan, Northern Mariana Islands.
Lee surprised his bride with an intimate beach wedding at the Hafadai Beach Hotel, secretly bringing her mother to join a small group of close friends at the informal occasion. The trip to Saipan was originally planned as a working vacation getaway but Lee surprised Qi Wei with a proposal while walking along the white sand beach.
“We congratulate Lee Seung-Hyun and Qi Wei on their wedding, and we are delighted that they chose to start their new life together with a lovely beach ceremony on Saipan,” said Marianas Visitors Authority marketing manager Bruce Bateman.
The celebrity couple came to Saipan to film a music video with a production crew and a major Chinese fashion magazine. Qi Wei most recently starred in the TV series Love is Back in 2014 and the movie Zuo Ci You Qian Ren in 2013. She has more than 20 million followers on her social media Weibo page in China. Lee most recently appeared in the movie Love Squares.
