CCA holds school outreach on oral cancer

The Commonwealth Cancer Association held a presentation for a combined group of 9th to 12th graders at the Kagman High School cafeteria last March 20 at 9am.

The CCA gave a PowerPoint presentation on CCA programs and services. School principal Leila Staffler, vice principal Eric Magofna, and teachers were in attendance.

The CCA also held a presentation for a combined group of 7th and 8th graders at Hopwood Jr. High School classroom on March 26, at 9am. CCA gave a presentation of CCA programs and services. School Counselor Olivia Pangelinan and Jill Pladevega were in attendance. Dr. Kenneth Pierson, director of SDA Clinic, spoke about oral cancer, sharing some powerful messages with the students. Mami Ikeda shared her heartfelt and emotional story. The presentations went very well in both schools. (CCA)
