CCA, ARC launch lunch buffet fundraiser
The Commonwealth Cancer Association and Aqua Resort Club Saipan have launched a lunch buffet at the Costa Terrace Restaurant that is also a fundraiser to fight breast cancer.
Starting last Oct. 1, 2018, the fundraising promotion will run for 30 days, ending on Oct. 31, 2018. Five percent of all sales at the Costa Terrace Restaurant lunch buffet will be donated to the CCA.
The Costa Terrace lunch buffet is available Monday to Saturday, from 1am to 2pm. The local rate is $19 per adult, and $9 per child (ages 5-10)
Aqua Resort said the fundraiser “is just one of the things we can do to help the non-profit organization achieve its mission and to join in the fight against breast cancer.”
The CCA began as an alliance of volunteers in 2003 and became formally chartered and incorporated in 2008. In 2009, CCA achieved a tax-exempt under 501 (c)(3), status. It provides direct client financial assistance for nutritional supplements and other personal needs, as well as offers certain types of medical equipment, e.g., hospital beds, wheelchairs, oxygen concentrator, etc. as prescribed by a licensed physicians in the CNMI to those individuals who are receiving treatment for cancer.
The annual Marianas March Against Cancer is CCA signature fundraising event for 16 years.
Also, CCA facilitates monthly cancer survivors support group meetings, and engages in various awareness and outreach activities and has produced various educational publications such as brochures, fliers and DVDs.
CCA organizes community events such as cervical cancer, colon cancer, oral cancer, childhood and prostate cancer, breast cancer, and lung and pancreatic cancer awareness, to mention a few.
CCA also engages in programs such as early screening and detection, and patient navigation.
