The Saipan Zoning Office is asking candidates to start taking down their political signs by Friday.

Zoning administrator Therese Ogumoro said yesterday that all candidates should take down their signs, except for the candidates for the gubernatorial runoff election.

Any candidate who fails to comply will be charged $150 each day that the sign is still up.

“Inspections will be conducted on Saturday and we hope that everyone will comply,” Ogumoro said.

If any candidates have questions, they may call the Zoning Office at 234-9664.

The signs were supposed to have been taken down by Nov. 10, six days after the election, but Zoning extended it until tomorrow, Nov. 14, as an accommodation to candidates who have not taken down their signs.

“This includes all the signs. The runoff election candidates can run their signs until their respective election is over,” Ogumoro said.
