Candidates debates survey open

In preparation for the 2018 Candidate Debates, the Saipan Chamber of Commerce and Northern Marianas College have created a survey as a way for the community to express their concerns on topics of interest by providing questions for the gubernatorial and congressional candidates.
These moderated debates will be composed of questions selected from those submitted via this poll. One question from each topic will be selected for each candidate type. Please provide at least one question for each of the 10 listed topics for each of the respective offices; if possible, provide two questions, as a larger pool will allow better identification of questions most appropriate to the topic. All questions should be submitted by 5pm, Monday, Sept. 17, 2018 at surveymonkey.com/r/Q3FK7F8.
Debate topics will include: environment and sustainable development, immigration, veterans benefits, healthcare, education, cannabis, gaming, welfare, and workforce. The survey also provides an option for community members to suggest other topics.
The U.S. Delegate Debate is slated for Thursday, Sept. 20, 2018, and the Gubernatorial Debate is slated for the following Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2018. Both debates will be held at the Pedro P. Tenorio Multi-Purpose Center from 6pm to 8:30pm. All tickets have been sold. (SCC)
