Brothers Rockson and Kimason Cabrera were the best riders in mini four wheels last Sunday after winning the Peewee Class and Mini ATV Class, respectively, of the 2023 Monster Energy Point Series Race at the Cowtown Race Track.

The 8-year-old Rockson, a Mt. Carmel School student, got an early birthday present by topping the February Marianas Racing Association race with a perfect 50 points. Last month’s winner, Nakoa Torres, was the only other rider in the four-lap division and finished with 44 points.

“I’m very good and happy with the win. I want to dedicate the win to my mom, Uncle Ibo, and the Errico Racing Team,” said Cabrera who competed aboard his ever dependable DRR 50cc 4×4. Uncle Ibo is Mark Borja.

Rockson celebrated his birthday yesterday, March 1.

Kimason, meanwhile, came through in the five-lap Mini ATV Class aboard his DRR DRX 90. He finished with 45 points, followed by Keoni Rosario and Anella Igitol with 44 and 25 points, respectively.

Like his little brother, 13-year-old Kimason is also celebrating his birthday this March 9.

“I feel happy and good to have won the race and dedicate this to my mom and dad. The weather was very good and the race was fun,” said Kimason, who thanked Uncle Ibo and the Ericco Racing Team.

Kimason also goes to MCS.

Both boys’ mother, May Cabrera, said she’s proud of Rockson and Kimason’s achievements on the racetrack.

“My kids are very athletic, something they got from their dad, the late Frank Cabrera. They started playing soccer when they’re 6 years old and up until now. They started learning how to ride dirt bikes in 2020, after a year we decided to switch them to ATVs. Their uncle, Mark ‘Ibo’ Borja, trains them every week and takes care of the bikes and everything they need and needs to be done to their bikes,” she said.

The results of other divisions in the February edition of the 2023 Monster Energy Point Series Race will be published in the next issues of Saipan Tribune.
