Samuel Lino Cabrera, a fifth grader from Green Meadow School, won the gold medal for the 3rd-5th grade division in the STEM Fair held at the Chacha Oceanview Middle School in Kagman last March 10.
Aside from the gold medal, Cabrera received a certificate of participation and gift certificates from McDonald’s Saipan and National Office Supply.
Cabrera will be one of the representatives of the CNMI team for the STEM Fair in Guam on May 4-5, 2018.
“I am so glad I won but at the same time I am also nervous to think that I will have to compete off-island,” said Cabrera when they announced he won the gold medal.
Meliza Umali, the STEM coordinator of GMS, guided the students who joined in the CNMI-wide STEM Fair.
Sabino Cabrera were overjoyed upon hearing his son will be competing off-island. “ I want to be there when he competes in Guam for moral support,” he said.
“God is good. He guides our students, teachers, and parents in every activity our school undertakes. This is a perfect example of that,” said Milagros Songcuan, GMS president/principal when she learned about the great news.
As of this writing, the CNMI STEM FAIR committee and the school chaperones are making preparations for the trip. (PR)
